KEBIJAKAN PEMERINTAH DESA DALAM PENINGKATAN KETAHANAN PANGAN MELALUI PROGRAM DESA MANDIRI PANGAN DI DESA BALONG KECAMATAN GIRISUBO KABUPATEN GUNUNGKIDUL

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of village government policies in increasing food security through the Food Independent Village Program in Balong Village, Girisubo District, Gunungkidul Regency. This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The results of this study indicate that government policies to increase food security through the Food Independent Village program in Balong Village include agricultural sector policies that utilize private land and village treasuries to be processed to plant local food. In the industrial sector, people are allowed to establish small industries based on entrepreneurship without having to leave the agricultural sector. The capital sector by establishing microfinance institutions as an effort to meet capital for industry in Balong Village. The role of the village head in improving food security in Balong Village is to provide motivation, good relations with community members, recommend planting local ingredients, brainstorming with community members, and providing encouragement to process root-based food ingredients. The participation of community members in improving food security in Balong Village is by implementing the Village Head's recommendations to plant local food, always following the socialization of the use of yards or vacant land, providing ideas in the socialization of increasing food security.
