IMPLEMENTASI SISTEM INFORMASI AKADEMIK SIMASTER DI PROGRAM PASCASARJANA FAKULTAS MATEMATIKA DAN ILMU PENGETAHUAN ALAM UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA

Abstract

The Simaster Academic Information System (SIA) is an academic information system at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) which is expected to be able to process all academic activities. The purpose of this research is to find out how the implementation of AIS Simaster and the factors that influence the implementation of SIA Simaster in the Postgraduate Program of FMIPA UGM. This research was conducted with a qualitative descriptive approach. Primary data sources were obtained from observations and interviews, and secondary data were documents related to academic data and the AIS Simaster process. The results showed that the implementation of SIA Simaster in the Postgraduate Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UGM was quite good, because it was supported by the attitude and commitment of academic processors, the infrastructure resources needed in implementing SIA Simaster, and horizontal communication among academic processors. The less supportive factor is the slow communication or response of the Information Technology (IT) team to problems faced by academic processors, because the IT Team handles the entire university. Another result of this study found that age and educational background factors influence the system implementation process. Edward III's theory does not suggest that age and education level influence the implementation of a system.
