Abstract

Globalization indeed demands that people can move or move from one place to another quickly and do not take a long time. Therefore, the policy on airport development is one of the important things for policy makers. Because globalization has made us all have to innovate, if we just keep quiet then we will all be left far behind with them - those who are innovative and creative. So the construction of the airport is an important thing, because the government is planning that the airport will be relocated to Kulon Progo, due to conditions that are no longer possible.Until now, relocating the airport to Kulon Progo has reaped many pros and cons among the wider community. The pros and cons of this occur in social aspects. The group that opposes airport relocation which is moved by a group and NGOs, has the reason that if the relocation continues it can have an impact on land functions, and the community cannot be prosperous, instead they lose their livelihoods. The contra communities are not ready if they have to lose their agricultural land which is the legacy of their ancestors, and they should preserve it. The pro group for relocation is dominated by the motive of being able to provide welfare for the surrounding community, because it can foster informal sectors on the edge of the airport, and can absorb labor at the airport.Development should be able to cover the interests of various groups, starting from the people, government and other parties. So that it does not cause conflicts that can divide parties.
