PROFESIONALISME BIDAN DALAM PELAYANAN KESEHATAN DI RUMAH SAKIT AKADEMIK (RSA) UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA (UGM)

Abstract

The Academic Hospital of Gadjah Mada University is a type B type hospital. In this case the quality of medical personnel is highly considered. The professionalism of midwives in health services at the Academic Hospital of Gadjah Mada University is the professional attitude held by a midwife including mastering the vision that underlies his skills. According to the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 369/MENKES/SK/III/2007 concerning Professional Standards of Midwives, there are 10 indicators used in this research. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with the determination of informants by purposive sampling. From the results of the study it can be seen that midwives at the Academic Hospital of Gadjah Mada University are already professional. But in several indicators have some obstacles. In keep up with latest development and skills indicator, the obstacle is lack of attention of Human Relation Devision to midwives, especially contract midwives. Another indicator that have an obstacle is using universal prevention methods for disesase, transmission and strategies and infection control. The obstacle in this indicator is lack of antiseptic fluid in hospital rooms. The hospital must also add STR requirements to midwives recruitments process.
