Pengaruh Upaya Pengembangan Obyek Waduk Gajah Mungkur Terhadap Peningkatan Pendapatan Asli Daerah di Kabupaten Wonogiri

Abstract

Research about the impacts of effort on developing the potential of attraction to increase the regional income in Wonogiri aims to determine the impacts of tourism development of Gajah Mungkur Reservoir towards the regional income, and the obstacles in its implementation. This research is useful for The Local Government of Wonogiri, particularly the Department of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports, as well as the related parties in overcoming the obstacles that occurred.
This research is using qualitative descriptive method that involves several Chief Section in the Department of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports, merchants, and visitors as respondents. The results showed that Gajah Mungkur Reservoir has contributed 1.5% to the regional income. During 2008-2010, tourist arrivals increased by 9.97%, parking fees increased by 12.59%, and charges admission increased by 6.89%. As for the barrier that has been identified is that there are many potentials which have not been developed due to budget constraints.
Suggestion for the Department of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports need to increase the budget of tourism development and cooperation with stakeholders for the promotion and investment for development of nautical tourism transportation. As for tourists and hawkers need to increase the awareness about environmental preservation.
