Abstract


Performance of Civil Servants (PNS), which tends to be worse during this already common knowledge. Bureaucrats synonymous with poor service, lazy and undisciplined. Such conditions also occur in Media Arts Faculty Office Record Indonesian Art Institute Yogyakarta (ISI FSMR) which is the object of this research. This study aims to determine the effect of emotional intelligence on the performance of employees FSMR ISI.
Employee performance is the result of work accomplished by people who work at an institution in carrying out the tasks assigned to him in accordance with, the legal and does not violate the law and in accordance with the moral and ethical. Emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive and understand the emotional sensitivity that includes the ability to motivate yourself or others, self-control, is able to understand the feelings of others, and are able to manage the emotions that can be used to guide the mind to take the best decision. Employee performance indicators used in this research that the quality of work, quantity of work, job knowledge, reliability, attendance and self-reliance. Indicators of emotional intelligence and the assessment of emotions in the self-expression, assessment and recognition of others' emotions, emotion regulation in self and theUse of emotion to facilitate performance.
The population in this study were all active employees at ISI FSMR with a sample of 32 people. This study uses primary data. Techniques of data collection using questionnaires filled out directly by the respondent. The analysis used the simple linear regression with the data if the program SPSS for windows 19.0. The results showed an effect of emotional intelligence on the performance of employees by 21.8% in FSMR ISI.
