STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN PARIWISATA PANTAI SAMAS DI KABUPATEN BANTUL

Abstract


Samas beach is one of the beaches in Bantul district which is located about 24 kilometers from Yogyakarta. The beach is actually have a variety of great potential to be used as a tourist attraction, but because of the lack of management of the local community and the government, so that Samas beach tourism has not been developed properly. This study aimed to determine tourism development strategy in Samas Beach. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative based on data collection through observation and interviews with informants.

Some recommendations has been arranged for beach tourism development, including 1) Strategy of tourism destinations which include the construction of a tourist attraction. Construction of infrastructure such as access roads, water municipal police, electricity, water supply and irrigation. Construction of public facilities such as the fish auction, the Mosque, parking lot, bathing, washing and toilet, trashes as well as resting area. 2) The strategy for community empowerment through coaching and training. 3) Strategy for tourism publication through mass media, electronic media and creating events. 4) The development strategy of tourism industry in Samas Beach will revive the industries that used to exist, such as trinkets and souvenirs. 5) Institutional tourism which includes organizational development,based on functioning the board structure of Pokdarwis accordance with the duties and position.
